The government is dedicated to enhancing revenue collection with the ultimate goal of attaining a revenue-to-GDP ratio of 25% in five years.
To realize the goal of increasing the revenue to GDP ratio to 25% by 2026/2027 the government is introducing the Revenue Enhancement Unit. This unit will be dedicated to minimizing tax avoidance which is estimated to increase revenue by $200 million in 24 months.
The Revenue Policy Committee, a committee of experts versed in revenue collection and revenue policy, will be constituted to review and provide recommendations regarding leakage, fee adjustments, and other areas of improvement.
